Deut 6:10-12 When the LORD your God brings you into the land he swore to your fathers, to Abraham, Isaac and Jacob, to give you—a land with large, flourishing cities you did not build, houses filled with all kinds of good things you did not provide, wells you did not dig, and vineyards and olive groves you did not plant—then when you eat and are satisfied, be careful that you do not forget the LORD, who brought you out of Egypt, out of the land of slavery.
We learnt from Hebrews 3 that God was provoked to wrath and from Numbers 13 that it was because on unbelief. The people could not believe that God would give them the land as He has promised. They saw giant inhabitants and they refused to enter the land. Instead they wept out aloud.
What was this land like? Look at God’s description – this is God’s desire for His people…. cities you did not build, wells you did not dig, vineyards you did not plant. If this is not enough God said houses FILLED with ALL kinds of GOOD things that you did not provide. How good is God?
