Here is an important verse written by the Apostle John. 3 John 1:2 Beloved, I wish above all things that thou mayest prosper and be in health, even as thy soul prospereth.
Let's continue to look at the goodness of God in the way He provides for His children.
Notice that above all things it says the desire is that the beloved (these are the children of God; the believers in the Son of God) prosper and be in health. Now maybe you have heard that this is spiritual in context meaning spiritually we are to prosper and be in health. However the context is not spiritual but physical as it says even as your 'soul' prospers. Soul or 'psychē' in Greek refers to the physical life of man derived from the breath of God. The verse does not say 'even as your spirit prospers' but it says 'even as your soul prospers'. As your soul prospers because of the good news about the goodness of God, then our circumstances also change to come in line with the soul.
The scripture says that the desire is for the beloved to prosper and be in health physically. Only religion tries to make it spiritual to rob the believer of this blessing.
