What Abraham Brought To Melchizedek

Let's quickly review where we left off. We saw in Hebrews that Jesus is connected with Melchizedek - a king priest.

Did you do your research to find out what Melchizedek brought with him when he went to meet Abraham?

Heb 5:5 So also Christ did not exalt himself to be made a high priest, but was appointed by him who said to him, “You are my Son, today I have begotten you”; as he says also in another place, "You are a priest forever, after the order of Melchizedek."

Melchizedek according to Hebrews is translated king of righteousness and king of peace. If you recall, we saw in Isaiah 54 that our righteousness is not ours but given to us by God. No wonder Jesus is referred to as Melchizedek the King of Righteousness! Here is the verse.

Isa 54:17 :No weapon formed against you shall prosper,

And every tongue which rises against you in judgment

You shall condemn. This is the heritage of the servants of the Lord,

And their righteousness is from me

Now back to our original verse on cedar of Lebanon in Psalms which tell us that we the righteous will grow like the cedar of Lebanon.

Psalm 92:12 The righteous will flourish like a palm tree, they will grow like a cedar of Lebanon, Says the Lord

So what did Melchizedek bring with him when he went to meet Abraham?

Gen 14:18 Then Melchizedek king of Salem brought out bread and wine; he was the priest of GOD most high

Yes, bread and wine! We are beginning to see the scriptures come together. More to follow, stay tuned.

You are blessed because you are righteous in Jesus.
